2012

A major new development

B52 reference interconnect

The B52 is our reference interconnect, utilising the mighty Bocchino B2 Connector shown, with 2 silver foils for the signal send, and 2 silver foils for the return. The combined gauge each side is equivalent to 16 AWG. The conductors are shielded. The Bocchino B2 is a large connector, and as such the RCA sockets on the components need to be spaced apart by 19 mm or more. In most cases they will fit, but inevitably there will be some components that they will not fit. The B52 digs deeper, delivers more detail and opens a wider more stable stereo holographic stage / image than any other RCA type connector anywhere today.  The consequence is an RCA connector that  delivers  extraordinary dynamics and enables the interconnecting cable to perform to it’s absolute best. Z:axis are the only UK based Hi-Fi cable manufacturer using these connectors.
Sonically the B52 delivers an extraordinary level of effortless depth & detail, with a wonderful sense of texture. The evidence of the musicians playing the instruments becomes very clear, resulting in a highly convincing representation of the recording. To date we have yet to hear a system that portrays a more convincing image, allowing us to believe in the notion that what we are hearing is real, a bold claim maybe, but true..
B42 Interconnect

The B42 is purely a more economical version of the B52. The conductor set is identical, as this offers the best performance. The difference is in the connector used. The B42 interconnect utilises the latest Bocchino connector, which is a scaled down version of the B2. This is produced in larger quantities, and therefore the scale of economics dictate that this simply costs less per unit to produce. Sonically it is remarkably similar to the B52, but carries slightly less weight and body. Also the overall diameter is smaller making it possible to use where the B52 is too large. The B42 is, to our ears, better than the reference interconnects we were using, and costs 35% less.
B72 Interconnect.

The B72 is a balanced (XLR) version of the B52 & B42. It utilises the Bocchino BAXLR [tm] 3 pin connector, which is like all of the Bocchino products, a significantly redesigned connector, with no compromises. The conductor set is similar to the RCA leads, except it utilises an additional silver foil ground conductor. Again, the B72 is a shielded design.

The BAXLR's are the only balanced line connector in the world today that have pure copper pin xlr's.

BAXLR's are ideal for the serious audiophile who has  a fully balanced system.
Equally some recording studios are now using BAXLR's at critical junctions for vocals direct into the mixing desk and for the final editing to stereo master. Diversity Records and Fidelis Records use BAXLR's exclusively throughout their entire recording process. Their neutrality and complete transparency is ideal where total information of the recording process is required.http://www.bocchtech.com/bocchinoaudio/baxlr.htmshapeimage_5_link_0
B72 XLR interconnect
We will soon only be building our new version of interconnect, which has surpassed everything we have made so far, the design topology has changed considerably, notably new fine gauge silver/gold conductors, employing a biased dielectric. We continue to use the Bocchino connectors, as they still prove to be excellent.

The changes have allowed a stunning level of realism to be achieved, and can be heard in our demo system by appointment.

We are finalising the power supply casing and hope to have this ready by spring 2012. Cost will be around £1200 for a single 1 meter set, including the DC bias supply.

We will keep the original interconnects detailed below until the new version is ready.
